Physics tutoring where every problem is a picture first.

One-on-one physics tutoring with me, Nico — regular, honors, AP Physics 1 and 2, and calculus-based AP Physics C. Students who are "bad at physics" are almost never bad at the math; they're skipping the drawing. Forces first, formulas second — and because I tutor the math too, whatever's actually blocking the problem gets fixed in the same session.

The whole physics track, one tutor

From the first conceptual course to calculus-based AP C — I've taught every step, and I know where each one bites.

Regular Physics

Motion, forces, energy — the first course where word problems turn into equations.

the algebra is the real fight

Honors Physics

Same ideas, faster pace, harder problems — and less hand-holding on the setup.

AP Physics 1

Algebra-based mechanics: kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum, rotation.

rotation bites here

AP Physics 2

Fluids, thermo, electricity and magnetism, optics — the second-year survey.

AP Physics C: Mech

Calculus-based mechanics for engineering-bound students.

calculus joins the party

AP Physics C: E&M

Electricity and magnetism with calculus — the summit of the high school track.

How I teach physics

Physics is first principles made visible — which is exactly how I teach everything. The method here has three legs, and the third one is something a single-subject tutor can't offer.

Draw it first

Every problem starts as a free-body diagram or a sketch, every time. Once the picture is right, the equation writes itself — and panic never gets a foothold.

Units as a compass

Dimensional analysis catches wrong answers before they're finished. Students learn to sanity-check with units until nonsense results stop surviving to the answer line.

The math, same session

Half of "physics trouble" is really algebra, trig or calculus trouble. I tutor those too — so the actual blocker gets fixed on the spot instead of referred out.

“We have had tutors for English, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Physics over the last three years, but Nicolas has been the best tutor my son has had… My son has maintained a high “A” in Physics during this school year.”

Conceptual & Regular Honors Physics AP Physics 1 & 2 AP Physics C: Mechanics AP Physics C: E&M College intro physics

AP Physics C leans hard on calculus — and I teach the calculus too, so nothing gets referred out. I also know how the physics courses run at the schools I work with.

Physics questions parents ask

If yours isn't here, call me — the consultation is free and I answer my own phone.

AP Physics 1 is the algebra-based first course; AP Physics 2 continues it; AP Physics C — Mechanics and E&M — is calculus-based and aimed at engineering- and physics-bound students.

The right pick depends on your student's math level and college plans, and it's exactly the kind of decision the free consultation settles with data instead of guesswork.
