Statistics tutoring for what the numbers actually mean.

One-on-one stats tutoring with me, Nico — regular, AP, and college statistics. Stats is the math course that grades your sentences: describe, interpret, conclude. Students who treat it like algebra get stuck; students who learn to read the story in the data pull ahead. That reading is teachable.

The statistics path, one tutor

From first data sets to college stats requirements — including the courses that surprise strong math students.

Data & graphs

Distributions, center and spread — learning to describe before calculating.

the vocabulary is half the battle

Probability

The rules of chance — and the intuitions that need rebuilding.

feels like gambling at first

Regular / Honors Stats

The high school course: studies, simulations and first inference.

AP Statistics

Inference in full — intervals, tests, and conclusions written in sentences.

inference is where it clicks or doesn't

College stats

Intro, business and psych stats — a steady stream of my students.

How I teach statistics

Procedures without reasons evaporate on test day. We build the reasoning, then let the calculator do what calculators are for.

Context before computation

Every problem starts with what's being measured and why. Numbers only mean something in a story — so we start with the story.

Write the conclusion

Stats rubrics grade sentences: interpret the interval, state the conclusion in context. We practice the writing as deliberately as the math.

Calculator fluency

Knowing which button is not the same as knowing why — but you need both. We train the tech until it's fast and boring.

“Nicolas helped prepare me for my stats class and I couldn't have asked for a better tutor! Math doesn't come easy for me, so it was extremely helpful to have him in my corner, helping me every step of the way.”

Statistics questions parents ask

If yours isn't here, call me — the consultation is free and I answer my own phone.

Different tools for different roads: calculus feeds engineering and physical sciences; statistics feeds business, social science, medicine and honestly, adult life.

Strong students bound for quantitative majors often take both. If it's one, we pick based on college plans — and I tutor both, so the choice isn't limited by support.
